The Workshop
Working on
I made a WKRP app that basically adds Dr. Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap among other voice hosts between songs. It’s hands off and is really neat. I won’t go in depth here, but reach out if you’re curious. I’ll eventually ship it to GitHub, but right now its private.
Reading
I recently cleared out my Reader list of PhD graduate school books. I have something neat related to that that I’m working on. Currently, I’m reading research articles germane to my research area.
Small pleasure
Sam’s Club pickup orders. I love Sam’s club so much.
Recent discovery
After heading to South Carolina at the end of August, it reminded me again of how large the world is and to not get caught up in my own head because the expansiveness of the world makes trivial things not matter.
Looking forward to
A Doors Tribute band at the end of December.
One open question
How can I readily update this /now page? Maybe like a github workflows .yml file that is basically a questionnaire. That’d be cool. Update 2hrs later - I did it. We’ll see how it runs October 1st!
Something I recommend
My friend Tim started a podcast with his friend revolving around Andy Griffith show episodes. The chemistry and dialogue between them is great. Check it out.

Watching
Cheers
The regulars of the Boston bar "Cheers" share their experiences and lives with each other while drinking or working at the bar where everybody knows your name.

I watched the first episode and instantly fell in love. The chemistry among characters is great and natural. No wonder the show lasted as long as it did. I think Frasier is connected somehow too, but haven't gone into understanding that connection more.
Cast: Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger. Awards: Won 28 Primetime Emmys. 77 wins & 181 nominations total. Box office: N/A.
Heavy Rotation
Current favorite song
Moon Chamber
A song that keeps me from waking up to reality.
The current thread
I first discovered this song in late 2022. I really like it a lot. Something about it is nostalgically sentimental. Like a deja vu song that would've been heard during my childhood. It's a shame this group is no longer together putting out music.
